Synopsis

Born in Lima, Peru, she grew up in Miami, Central Florida, and South Texas, and received her BFA from the University of Miami. A Maleta Full of Treasures is her first picture book.

About Juana Medina

Juana Medina is the author-illustrator of the 2017 Pura Belpré Author Award winner Juana & Lucas, as well as Juana & Lucas: Big Problemas, Juana & Lucas: Muchos Changes, and many other titles. She has also illustrated numerous picture books, including Doreen Cronin’s Smick! and Elise Primavera’s I’m a Baked Potato! Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, she now lives with her family in the Washington, DC, area.
