Synopsis

Everybody waits. We wait for a spouse, wait for a baby, wait on our children, wait for our parents. We wait for clarity and direction. We wait on a job, a promotion, a new direction. We wait for hope, for healing, and for miracles. We wait on God. And when we misunderstand what waiting is about, we can get confused about what God is up to. Waiting is one of God’s favorite tools. He can do certain things in our hearts, our lives, and our relationships while we wait―things we cannot experience once we’ve opened the gift we have been waiting for. So just you wait, because everyone takes their turn in the waiting room. It’s a long and painful fact of life, but shortcuts and microwaves aren’t the answer. God is at work behind the scenes in invisible ways you can’t see . . . yet. Just you wait and see how ready you’ll be if you spend your waiting well. Because when your opportunity comes, you don’t want to spend more time on the bench. When you wait well, you can say, “Look out, world: I am getting ready to shine. Just you wait.” In these pages, Tricia discusses the joy hidden in the discipline of waiting, and the practices of believing God is for you and working on your behalf, even when the work of His hand is hard to find.

About The Author

Tricia Lott Williford's great loves are teaching, writing, and her two young sons, Tucker and Tyler. When her husband died unexpectedly and tragically at Christmastime, Tricia suddenly found herself to be a thirty-one-year-old widow with two preschoolers to raise on her own.  The blog she had been writing for several years became her lifeline as she wrote about loss, sadness, laughter through tears, daily challenges of raising little boys, the return of hope, and the spark of new dreams to come - and her readership grew dramatically and went worldwide. Tricia is a highly sought after speaker and teacher for events and retreats all over the country.  She collects books, words, and bracelets, prefers to have a solid supply of both Diet Pepsi and steaming coffee on hand at all times, and is quite particular about her choices of pens and technology. She loves playing games with the boys, does not so much love the mounds of dirty jeans and socks they seem to generate, and cannot for the life of her catch a ball. Goodreads review by Peter

I found this book to be relatable in this instant gratification society we live in. Is it the easiest Subject, NO, BUT EVERYONE HAS TO WAIT. It is a very real look at the fact that there is a bigger story to be played out in LIFE, Mine and yours. Great weaving of real-time life stories and situation......more

So here’s the thing: I’ve read a lot of faith-based books about waiting, and hope, and how to face difficult seasons with grace. A lot of books. A LOT. And while some of them have been helpful, a lot of them have also seemed trite, or took the easy way out of hard questions, or made me feel like the......more

Every time I read one of Tricia Lott Williford's books, I think, "This is my favorite." And yep, she did it again. This is my favorite. Just. You. Wait. maintains Tricia's conversation style that I love. Sitting down with one of her books is like grabbing coffee with a (wise and funny) dear friend. Y......more

In my opinion, everything Tricia puts on paper is gold. You might be thinking, "Hm, a little dramatic perhaps?" Nope. Not one bit. Gold. Tricia's ability to make you deeply feel thirteen different emotions in one paragraph is astonishing, to say the least. I often find myself dazzled by her storytell......more

This book is amazing! Yet again, Tricia brings her down-to-earth honest story of doing this messy. crazy, sometimes-so-hard life with Jesus, Peter, boys and laughter. Lots of laughter! She doesn’t mince words or hide the messiness of the ups and downs. She doesn’t pretend to have it all figured out.......more
