Synopsis

"True and absolute freedom is only found in the presence of God." —A. W. Tozer

Deep in the soul of every person on earth is a longing for the presence of God. But how do we get there?

Experiencing the Presence of God is a collection of teachings from A. W. Tozer on the book of Hebrews that shows us the way. Tozer, the renowned pastor and theologian, challenges our status quo, invites us to explore a fresh understanding of what it means to dwell in God's presence, and leads us to experience the divine fulfillment for which we were created!

As Tozer says, "We should come to church not anticipating entertainment but expecting the high and holy manifestation of God's presence. . . . Worship is not some performance we do, but a presence we experience." Come alongside Tozer and enter into God's presence right now.

I’d like to give a personal testimony just before my review. After several months of addiction, I recently deleted Instagram. I used to scroll for embarrassingly long periods of time. This is a short book; the devotions being about 20-25 mins long. Some times I wished they were broken down into simpler or one devotion become 2, to focus more on the subject or verse(s). I love Tozer and I will read anything he has written and highly recommend his writings. This man loves the Lord......more

Took me way too long to read Tozer. Loved the way he weaved humor and theology together. Surprised with how many times I laughed out loud. Reminded me of the way Mark Twain uses satire. Approachable, yet stern. Like a loving father who wants the best for his children. His words on “entertainment” and......more

Amazing perspective on encountering the Father in his holiness and grace - debunking lots of misconceptions like whether we should do Christian life alone (Jesus even went to the synagogue) and whether the OT God was one of wrath (the Father suffered for the Son as he was the one that looked away wh......more
