In an alternate timeline where the Roman Empire undergoes an industrial revolution in 100 AD, steam power and mass production transform the empire into an unprecedented superpower. The story follows Marcus Aelius, a visionary engineer who invents the first steam engine, and Livia, a shrewd senator's daughter who sees the potential for these innovations to reshape society. Meanwhile, Livia and Marcus must navigate political intrigue and sabotage to protect their vision of a new Rome.
