Synopsis

El Ombu is a haunting tale of memory and loss set on the Argentine pampas, where a solitary ombú tree stands as witness to a vanished world. Through the recollections of Nicandro, the story recounts the rise and decline of the El Ombú estate, the brutal power of Santos Ugarte, and the tragedies that marked his household. William Henry Hudson weaves nostalgia, violence, and regret into a powerful meditation on time, sorrow, and fading lives.
