Perhaps I started reading this book with too high expectations, but when it promised to tell the story of women in a good way I did not expect to be reading so much about facts which are linked the women, but you do not necessarily need to know to get an impression of how they lived their lives. Though the women that this book highlights are exemplary and inspiring, the organization and delivery of the book itself was somewhat awkward, dry, and disconnected. I still enjoyed reading it though. The chapters on Anne Steele and Ann Judson we're personally compelling.......more
