Synopsis

And Grimma said, We have two choices. We can run, or we hide. And they said, Which shall we do?
She said, We shall Fight.

A Bright New Dawn is just around the corner for thousands of tiny nomes when they move into the ruined buildings of an abandoned quarry. Or is it?

Soon strange things begin to happen. Like the tops of puddles growing hard and cold, and the water coming down from the sky in frozen bits. Then humans appear and they really mess everything up. The quarry is to be re-opened, and the nomes must fight to defend their new home. But how long will they be able to keep the humans at bay - even with the help of the monster Jekub?

About Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett (1948–2015) is the acclaimed creator of the globally revered Discworld series. In all, he authored more than fifty bestselling books, which have sold more than one hundred million copies worldwide. His novels have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and he was the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal. He was awarded a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to literature in 2009, although he always wryly maintained that his greatest service to literature was to avoid writing any.

I'm not the ideal target market for this book - unlike the Discworld novels, it's clearly aimed at youn......more

Serie Gnomos, NO Mundodisco.

Slapstick romp laced with some sharp, satirical barbs Publishers Weekly

A well-written comic fantasy that blends an off-beat but believable plot with strong but quirky characters, lots of entertaining adventures and a liberal dose of humour . . . Highly recommended The School Librarian
