Defiance starts off very slow. Graves is kidnapped by Sergej and Dru takes her sweet time getting to him. Dru becomes more annoying in this book and Christophe, well he was everywhere and very annoying as well. I liked the plot of the book but the pacing was too slow in the beginning.
