Synopsis

'Hausmann is a force to be reckoned with' DAVID BALDACCI

She went missing decades ago.
He is still looking for her . . .

Julie Nowak has been missing since 7th September 2003. It broke her family. Only her father, Theo, doesn't give up on her. On the 20th anniversary of her disappearance, Theo is contacted by podcaster Liv. She's come across a new lead. But if Theo wants to find out the truth he must be quick before his progressing dementia smothers everything in darkness.

Who has taken his daughter? Why does Julie's ex-boyfriend Daniel keep his mother's bedroom door locked, years after she passed away? And is there anything more gruesome than the uncertainty of not knowing what happened to your own child?

Romy Hausmann returns with an exceptional new thriller that picks up straight where she left her fans with the international phenomenon that was Dear Child. Just when you think you know where the story is going, she turns it all upside down.

4.25⭐️ If you have read "Dear child" by Romy Hausmann then you can be prepared for what is coming in this story. Although "Darling mine" wasn't that dark and emotionally wrecking as "Dear child" it still gave a nordic noir feeling - sadness, darkness, secrets, hopelesness. I think the biggest strenght......more

I was originally drawn in by the synopsis - Twenty years after 16 year old Julie went missing, presumed abducted, her elderly dementia ridden father Theo, gets a call from Liv, a podcaster who says she has a new lead. Theo has......more

I’m a really big fan of this author and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed their previous books, so it’s safe to say I was ecstatic when I got approved for this arc! I would have requested this book based just on the author, but the premise was also really exciting and intriguing to me. I’m pleased to say this......more

Darling Mine by Romy Hausmann is thethird book I've read by the German author (all translated by Jamie Bulloch). They're all very twisty reads centred around crimes in the (recent) past and kidnapping or abduction. This is similarly themed, around the disappearance of 16 year old Julie from her......more
