Synopsis

From “the heir-apparent to Elmore Leonard” (Crime Syndicate Magazine) comes a caper novel full of twists, hitmen, and loads of stolen cash. Wanting to free herself from her boyfriend, aging gangster “Maddog” Palmieri, Bobbi Ricci concocts a misguided plan with Denny, Maddog’s ex-driver, a guy who’s bent on getting even with the gangster for the humiliating way in which he was sacked. Helping themselves to the gangster’s secret money stash, along with his Cadillac, Bobbi and Denny slip out of town, expecting to lay low for a while before enjoying the spoils. Realizing he’s been betrayed, an enraged Maddog calls in stone-cold killer Lee Trane. As Trane picks up their trail, plans quickly change for Bobbi and Denny, who now find themselves on a wild chase of misadventure through northern British Columbia and into Alaska.  Time is running out for them once they find out that Trane’s been sent to do away with them, or worse, bring them back — either way, Maddog will make them pay.

Going around the side of Grillo’s, the place with no windows down the side and all the hip of a legion hall. A couple of pick-ups sat in the back lot dusted in snow. It’s the sixties, Nixon in the Whit......more

Ok, I’ve got some venting to do here, but in a good way. First off, my review is actually 4 stars, but I gave it 5 because of how far off some of the crap reviews are on this book. To the point I very nearly didn’t bother reading. Thank goodness I checked the pedigree of the reviewer. The cover comp......more

Three stars because this is a poor man’s knockoff of an Elmore Leonard study of fringe underworld denizens…A draft-dodging, driver for a Canadian mobster and his moll steal his “Go Money,” and escape to the Great White North…They’re “fish-out-of-water” and culture clash provides plenty of opportunit......more

This was good, but I felt like the story line could’ve ended much better.......more
