Synopsis

Newly released movie tie-in edition!

Meet Bridget Jones -- a 30-something Singleton who is certain she would have all the answers is she could:

a) lose 7 pounds
b) stop smoking
c) develop Inner Poise

Here is the laugh-out-loud daily chronicle of a hilarious year in the life of the devastatingly self-aware Bridget Jones; a year in which she resolves to: reduce the circumference of each thigh by 1 1/2 inches, visit the gym three times a week not merely to buy a sandwich, and form a functional relationship with a responsible adult.

Bridget struggles to keep her life on an even keel -- or at least afloat. Whenever her plans meet with disaster, she manages to pick herself up, go out on the town, and tell herself it will be all right in the morning, when life will definitely be different this time and totally alcohol, calorie, and perverted-misogynist free.

Bridget Jones's Diary will make you like yourself for precisely those things you're most ashamed of. And through it all, Bridget Jones will have you helpless with laughter, and shouting,
"Bridget Jones is me!"

About The Author

I've been waiting for every to read the book to one of my favorite movies. I must say that I like the book but felt the movie did a better job. The whole fiasco with Bridgets mom was ridiculous and I was ready to jump through the book and smack her. Maybe if I didn't see the movie first I wouldn't have been so upset with the book. It's still a good read and it was enjoyable. Just don't expect a big fight between Daniel and Mark to happen in the book LOL

I have seen the movie and heard people say that this story was great, but I just couldnt get into it. I found it extremely slow. I did, however, have some laughs and enjoy moments, but overall I was not a fan.

Nov. 9, 2023 Addendum "Space is big." Douglas Adams Originally, I didn't go to the Bridget Jones movie or read the book because (pausing while trying to think of a nonoffensive way to say) they sounded totally stupid. After I read the book, I searched for a polite way to say the book probably wouldn......more
