Synopsis

Whitney Carroll is back home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, after divorcing her low-down, cheating husband. And she has her To Do List all ready to go. First, get a job. Second, just say no to men. And the third? Don't fall for the boss. Oh well, one out of three isn't too bad.

Sam Ellis's to-do list is always work, work, work, and trying to keep his family's legacy alive. And his siblings have had enough of it. Now they're betting that Sam can't keep a girl happy for thirty days. If he loses? He's out as CEO. So Sam's going to make sure he doesn't lose . . . by faking a relationship. And his guy-free assistant might be the perfect accomplice.

Now Whitney's discovering just how not boring her sexy boss—slash secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is. Their connection is undeniable and completely inconvenient. But when disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to choose between his job . . . or his heart.

About Jennifer Hoopes

Contemporary romance author Jennifer Hoopes lives in a small town in Pennsylvania with her husband and two daughters. Add two cats and a dog, and the fur flies sometimes. Stories have been in her head for as long as she recognized every person had one, and figuring out how two people meet and fall in love makes for a rewarding dream job.

When not writing, she wears the many mom hats of PTO, dance, and music, all while driving a mean mom-taxi. She loves caramel and roller coasters, plays a solo version of Carpool Karaoke, and cannot live without coffee and Jane Austen adaptations.

Betting on love is the story of Sam and Whitney. Sam is the CEO of his family’s company...a position he inherited after tragedy, and one he doesn’t believe he deserves. Although he is willing to work himself to death to prove otherwise...the only problem is...no one else needs him to prove himself.......more

The book was fairly quick I did however find that it felt rushed, I wish they would have developed the characters better. Whitney and Sam didn't grab me like some characters tend to do and you are rooting for them, with these two I didn't feel that and I also felt like the issue within families was......more

I've listenes to this as an audiobook, and if not for the guy making a funny voice when reading women's dialogues maybe it would have been a better book. It just sounded very silly with a lot of clichés. The story itself also seemed a bit rushed and underdeveloped, though much better story line than......more

This is a delightful contemporary fake relationship romance involving a family feud, a workaholic, a bet and a feisty, determined divorcee who is determined to not get involved with a man again . . . . The Ellis family have suffered multiple tragedies, including the untimely death of their parents an......more

When I signed up to review this book I was not aware that it's part of a series and that there is another book before this one. Being a bit of a completionist I wouldn't have requested this had I known that. I think that the first book is referenced so much in this one that, even though we still get......more
