Synopsis

Afoot in England chronicles William Henry Hudson’s wandering journeys through the English countryside, celebrating travel guided by curiosity rather than guidebooks. Walking and cycling through villages and fields, he discovers unexpected beauty, from church bells echoing across hills to local customs and quiet landscapes. Blending reflection with keen observation, Hudson invites readers to savor spontaneity, solitude, and the deeper rewards of immersive, unplanned exploration.
