Single mom Caley James has three kids, a good-for-nothing ex and the flu. When her furnace dies, during the longest cold spell Hampstead has ever seen, she thinks Christmas can’t get worse. Until… Her youngest finds a dead body in the basement. Shifty-eyed repairman Tim Holiday was supposed to be fixing their furnace. Instead he’s the one who got burned—so badly his face is almost unrecognizable. Police Chief Susan Wren is on the case. But she soon realizes Caley’s busybody neighbor knows more than they’re letting on. Are they hiding a secret—or hiding a killer? It’s up to Susan to solve the mystery before Christmas goes up in flames.
