Michael Raleigh is the author of five Paul Whelan mysteries. He has received four Illinois Arts Council grants for fiction, and his stories and poetry have appeared in a number of literary magazines. This one was just as good or maybe a bit better than the last book. Not that it relied a lot on the setting of the other, but at least it was more familiar & there were a few old faces. Good mystery, too. He's a somewhat understated hero, but very tenacious. Good reader, too. I'll listen to another.......more

These Whelan Novels have aged well. they seem to capture what life was like in Chicago, in Uptown, in the 80s. The descriptions of the neighborhoods are excellent.
